What: A show that has FBI agents who study the traits of serial killers already in custody so they can solve existing serial killer cases.
Why: Because the people running the show include Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron and David Fincher of the iconic ultra-male movie Fight Club.
Bonus: It’s already been renewed for a second season, so you know there will be more intrigue head.
YOU LOVE SCI-FI
Star Trek: Discovery
What: A prequel that’s set 10 years before the start of the original Star Trek Series
Why: Because the inner Trekkie in you can’t get enough.
Where: CBS All Access
Bonus: 50 years after the original Star Trek featured the first interracial kiss between William Shatner’s Captain Kirk and Nichelle Nichols Nyota Uhura, the show breaks ground again featuring the first gay couple in the history of the franchise: Rent’s Anthony Rapp and My So Called Life’s Wilson Cruz. It’s also been renewed for a second season.
YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT’S BACK & BETTER THAN EVER
Will & Grace
What: The show that brought sophisticated (and gay) characters into the mainstream is back after an 11-year hiatus with fresh new episodes.
Why: We’ve watched the first few episodes and it’s just as funny now as it was when it first came into our living rooms, pre-DVR, pre-streaming, two decades ago. Plus, the cast has never really aged.
When: Thursday’s 8PM Central
Bonus: It’s on demand via AT&T UVerse, so you can catch up on the episodes you already missed. And, like The Deuce, Mindhunter and Star Trek: Discovery, it’s already been renewed for a second season.
OF COURSE, YOU LOVE TEXAS
What: Set in East Texas, it chronicles the early years of Texan native Jim Parsons’ iconic character Sheldon Cooper on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.
Why: In an era where there are many nostalgic shows, here is one that is extremely funny…with Texas roots.
When: Thursday’s 7:30PM Central, starting November 2nd
